Last summer, we had the most incredible day for Kara and Christian’s engagement session!  The evening sky put on quite a stunning display of color, and we stood in awe as we were completely surrounded by shades of pink, coral, and lavender. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and to have shared it with two of the kindest, sweetest, most beautiful from the inside out people, it was something I’ll never forget!  Their wedding day is almost upon us, and I am so excited to share it with their family and friends!  Kara and Christian, you two are simply wonderful, and I cannot wait to be there alongside you as you share your vows and celebrate with those you love most in this world!  For now, I’ll let your warm smiles and joyful spirits shine right here in some of my many favorites from this fantastic day!  Hugs to you both!!!

Aside from being a gorgeous couple, Lauren and Bryce are kind, funny, adventurous, sweet, and easy-going.  When 2020 handed the world a pandemic, they had tough decisions to make, like so many other brides and grooms.  Trading their dreams of a fall wedding day to now a Spring one, I have no doubt that it will be the most amazing day!  And from all of the fun we had at their engagement session at Newfields, I cannot wait to have them back in front of my camera again!  I think you’ll agree that they will make for such a stunning bride and groom!  I can’t help but think back to our first meeting, hearing about how they met, how we share a common bond and love for IU, where Bryce proposed to Lauren, playing tennis, and simply enjoying the great outdoors!  Their positive spirit and their zest for adventure and love for each other made my job a piece of the most decadent cake imaginable, and I keep pinching myself because I feel so lucky to know them!  I didn’t want my time with them to end, and we took full advantage of the day’s beautiful light to explore the lovely landscape at Newfields, ending with a craft beer tasting for these two – another hobby they love to share!  I’ll stop gushing about these two and get straight to some favorites from the day!

L + B, I adore you both, and I have been counting down the days until we hang out again!  The Month of May will have one more epic event to celebrate! And I cannot wait to be there!

Yes, I know, we really just started Winter here in the Midwest!  And I should totally savor all of the cozy time of being indoors in fleece leggings (Seriously, life changing! Do you love them too?)…however, it’s also fun to think ahead to warmer weather, to blossoming trees, to basking in the sunshine on a beautiful day!  Am I right?  Well, anyway, it’s my excuse to finally share images from this gorgeous Spring session with Lauren, Steven, and their handsome pup, Hunter!  We explored many areas along the Indianapolis Canal Walk before happening upon a magical spot that we had all to ourselves!  Take a look!  Those trees!!!  My time with these two and their sweet, very well-behaved four-legged friend was amazing, and I can’t wait to share some of that here with you all!

L+S+H, thank you so much for sharing this special day with me!

And a special thank you to Miya, a fellow photography enthusiast, who works with Lauren and kindly shared my name with her!  I sincerely appreciate it!  Hugs to you, friend!

Ohhh, friends!!!  This insanely adorable duo will be getting married this fall, and I can hardly wait!  Hannah and Ryan are the kind of people you love being around, always smiling and happy go lucky.  They love traveling, playing tennis, riding bikes, visiting wineries, and spending quality time together.  Speaking of traveling, they were spending time abroad in Italy with Ryan’s family during the summer of 2017.  The day they were exploring Positano, they walked along the beach in the mid-day sun.  When Hannah turned around to look at Ryan, he was on one knee asking her to marry him!  He had had the ring in his pocket the whole day, waiting for the right moment to ask her.  She said yes, and together they’ve been planning a wedding day of their dreams ever since!

I truly adore all of my wedding couples!  Their stories are uniquely theirs, and no two are the same!   Hannah and Ryan met in high school.  They shared a class and didn’t know each other.  Both of them worked at the same movie theatre.  And through mutual friends, they began to form a beautiful friendship.  Although they both liked each other as more than friends, neither one wanted to risk jeopardizing their relationship.  However, fate had other plans!  They soon went on their first date, and the rest, as they say, is history.  My connection to Hannah came about when I had the honor of photographing her senior portraits!  I remember that day so vividly!  We explored downtown Indianapolis on a lovely fall day, and she smile the whole time!  So many portraits of her from that day are still some of my favorites!  Hannah, you are going to be such a gorgeous bride!!!  Fast-forward to a couple of years ago when I was planning a styled wedding project and needed some models for the bridal party.  I reached out to Hannah and her boyfriend, Ryan, and they agreed to come and spend the day with me!  They were so cute together, I just knew they were an amazing couple!  I had a hunch that one day soon I’d hear that they’d be getting married!  And I knew at that point that I’d be so incredibly honored to document their wedding day!  More fast-forwarding to 2017 when I saw on social media that they were traveling in Italy.  Call it intuition, call it wishful thinking, whatever you want to call it, I had a feeling!   Days later Hannah shared the news that Ryan proposed on the beach in beautiful Positano, Italy!  Mama mia!!!  After they returned from the adventure of a lifetime, I got a message from Hannah asking to meet with me about their wedding day!  And, as they say, the rest is history!  At our meeting, it turns out that I had another connection with this pair.  Ryan has family that live in my hometown, and his late uncle was my high school Biology X teacher!  I loved that class, and talking with Ryan about him brought back so many fond memories of learning so many interesting things in his uncle’s class!  Well, except for dissecting frogs and worms, but I digress.  It’s not every day you make connections like this, and it’s all part of what I love so much about this work that I get to do!

Both Hannah and Ryan have continued their studies since graduation from college, and have been planning their wedding over the past 2 years.  They were so excited to celebrate their engagement and to make the wait seem a bit shorter by having their engagement portraits taken in the Spring of 2018.  And I’m so delighted to finally share a few favorites from their beautiful spring day exploring the colorful gardens at  Newfields!  Hooray for all of the purple flowers in bloom just for Hannah!  Hannah and Ryan, you two are such a wonderful couple, and I am so excited to travel alongside you both during this special season!

Counting down the days until your wedding, H + R!!!  Hugs to you both!!!

In a few short days, Haylee and Colin will be saying “I do!” while surrounded by their loving families and closest friends!  Ever since meeting them at the beginning of the year, I’ve been smitten with them, counting down the days until seeing them for their engagement session and again soon for their wedding day!  Their smiles and laughter are infectious!  They met in high school through mutual friends.  Colin played football, and Haylee was a cheerleader.  When Haylee asked if she could wear his jersey for a game, he said yes.  Friendship grew to walking the halls, sending texts every night, and spending time together on the weekends.  And when Colin asked Haylee to be his girlfriend on her 16th birthday, she said yes!  A few years later, Colin had another question for Haylee.  Over Easter weekend last year, they were spending time with family, and decided everyone should go on a walk along the river.  As everyone walked ahead, Colin had stopped at an overlook.  Haylee and pup Milo made their way to him.  However, a flock of geese caught Milo’s attention.  Luckily, Haylee swept him up in her arms before things got out of hand, and Colin asked her to just hang out with him by the water’s edge to talk.  He told her how much he loved her, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.  So when he asked her to marry him, of course her reply was “Yes!”  They’ve been together through high school, college, early adulthood, and now this incredible next step, marriage!  We met at Holliday Park on a gorgeous fall day for their engagement session.  Milo came with them and made everyone around him smile!  And, goodness, this pair and their pup made some magic happen together!

Haylee and Colin, I love the way you make each other smile.  And laugh.  And just soak in the present moment together.  You put each other at ease, and I loved learning how your love story unfolded.  What a beautiful friendship and love you share, I am so honored to have been asked to come along beside you during this exciting chapter together!  I can’t wait for your wedding day!  Hugs and congratulations to you both!
