Happy Wednesday, friends!  It’s going to be another beautiful day here on the blog with another absolutely adorable couple, Melissa and Mike!  These two!!!  Oh my goodness, they are just the cutest pair, and in a few days they will be sharing their vows surrounded by family and friends!  Before we get to some of my favorites, let me first share a bit about M + M.  They met through an old roommate while out enjoying karaoke.  And last summer, Mike planned a surprise birthday and engagement party for Melissa, asking her to be his forever…and she said yes!  Needless to say that this June on Melissa’s birthday, they had so much to celebrate!!!  We met up on a chilly November afternoon in downtown Indianapolis last fall for their engagement session, and, I quickly realized just how amazing their wedding day would be!  They both light up in each other’s presence, and are each other’s best friend.  As you’ll see below, they love to dance, and I have been counting down the days until their First Dance ever since!!!  They love good food, good drinks, music and theatre, and sharing an adventure – like on their first official date at The Escape Room.  Together they cheer on the Indianapolis Colts, host game nights with friends, seek thrills on amusement park rides, watch HGTV while snuggling their kitty cat, and so much more!  Melissa and Mike, I am so thankful our paths crossed that afternoon at The Conrad!  And I’m so honored that you’ve entrusted me to document this most special time in your lives together!  Thank you for being so kind and for sharing your time with me!  I cannot wait to see the two of you as husband and wife!  Hugs!!!

Oh, my goodness!  It’s a perfect summer day outside, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, the humidity…well, it’s elsewhere right now!  I’m excited to share some of my many favorites from an equally beautiful day and adorably wonderful couple with you all!  Kathryn and Jake are high school sweethearts!  They were lab partners in anatomy class alongside a mutual friend, and, as they say the rest is pretty much history.  They attended high school dances together, have been inseparable since then.  And now we are just a few days away from their wedding day!  After rescheduling a few times due to rainy weather earlier this spring, we met up for their engagement portraits.  It had been a very cloudy day, and I will admit that I was a bit nervous that the weather was going to ruin our fun again.  However, the sun came out in a miraculous way for these two that evening!  And we soaked up every last drop of golden sunshine that day!  We wandered around a few of their favorite parts of Indianapolis, where they love to window shop, explore, and try new restaurants together.  They also brought their handsome pup, Axel!  Just wait and see, he is such a cutie!!!  

Kathryn and Jake, I adore you both so much!  The way you make each other smile, and simply melt into each other’s arms…well, it was magical to see!  You’re both so very kind, genuine and down to earth, and I loved spending this special time with you along Mass Ave and Fountain Square.  Your wedding day is going to be truly amazing, and I feel incredibly grateful and honored to be there with you to document it all!  And what a gorgeous pair you are!!!  I can hardly wait!!!  Hugs to you – and to Axel too!

With some late November sunshine and with glimpses of the last of the seasonal color hanging on, this gorgeous pair snuggled and cozied up for their engagement session at the lovely Holliday Park in Indianapolis. It may have been a chilly day, however, Michelle and Ryan, made everything like a walk in the park! They’ll be tying the knot this weekend at one of my favorite venues, The Sycamore at Mallow Run, and I could not be more excited to share in their winter wedding day! I’m excited to finally share a few favorites from our time together! M + R, you are the sweetest couple, and I am so, so happy for you both! What a stunning bride and groom you’ll be!

These two heard my signature phrase a few times…like when we passed by these golden trees at the end of our session! “Just one more! Ok, one more, please!” So glad you both endured a few more minutes on this brisk afternoon! You are the best! Counting down the hours until you say “I do!”

We had a beautiful summer evening for this sweet, adorable, joyful family engagement session!!!  Jenny and Lucas are getting married in just over a week, and I can hardly wait for their big day!  These two are quite a gorgeous pair with their bright smiles and sheer glow that comes from loving each other in the incredible way that they do!  Jenny’s two precious daughters, Nicolette and Clara, and the couple’s two pups, Viv and Meatball, joined in on the fun, and I have so many favorites to share!  When Jenny told me how Lucas proposed, I melted into a giant puddle!  He created the most unique scavenger hunt throughout their home one morning, complete with clues and activities to do together as a family, all leading to the moment he asked Jenny to be his queen and the girls to be his princesses!  Ooooh myyyyyyy goooooodness!!!  As you can imagine, they all said yes!  And that is truly indicative of Lucas’ character.  Jenny describes him as selfless and thoughtful, and I think she can absolutely add creative and fun and romantic to the list!  These two share a love of having a good time, be it together with family or sipping wine on a date night.  They spend time at local parks and enjoying the outdoors with the girls and the pups.  They are simply the best, and I cannot wait to be there as they tie the knot!  J + L, I am sooo happy and excited for you two!!!

They invited me to their charming, historic home in Indianapolis to capture some engagement portraits.  I loved meeting their beloved cat, Winston, who adorned his gold chevron bow tie with grace and style.  He is such a sweetheart, and clearly didn’t mind having some time in front of the camera!  Kelsey showed us how to make the perfect cocktail, complete with Icelandic vodka, ginger beer, and limes, using a brand new cutting board that was a bridal shower gift.  Their home is full of character and perfectly pulls in their style and interests.  A map and a moose gives a nod to Will’s Canadian heritage, for example.  They love black and white, craft beer and wine tastings, art and architecture, travel and kayaking, taking in symphony performances and generally exploring all that Indianapolis has to offer.  In fact, Will and Kelsey were on one such adventure this past November.  After enjoying coffee at a favorite local spot and making Christmas ornaments, they toured the Miller House, admiring the mid-century modern architecture – their favorite! – in Columbus, Indiana, when Will suggested they take a detour and visit his alma mater, Indiana University.  Being a Ball State alumna, Kelsey wasn’t nearly excited about this idea as her beau, however, she reluctantly agreed.  And thank goodness she did…because she was in for quite a surprise!  Will gave her a brief campus tour, having served as a guide while at IU, and as they came upon the famous Well House, he paused.  While recounting the history behind the structure, Will also mentioned that his grandfather had proposed to his grandmother at a well house similar to this, only in North Carolina on the University of North Carolina’s campus.  Over the years,  many proposals have taken place in this very spot.  Keeping both family and IU tradition alive and well, Will proposed to Kelsey and she said yes!  Since then, they’ve been planning their Indianapolis wedding, and will be exchanging vows in a few short weeks!  I couldn’t be more excited and honored to share in your big day, K + W!!!  Thank you so much for asking me to document this exciting time!  Enjoy some favorites from their engagement session in and around their home!
