Happy Birthday to the sweetest Grandma anyone could ever ask for! She’s sweet, smart, loving, funny, endearing, and so creatively talented. I have enjoyed many sleepovers at Grandma’s house when I was little. We enjoyed playing cards, making crafts, swinging outside, shopping for Barbie dolls, having garage sales, bowling in the living room with my purple Popple as our ball and plastic cups as the pins, and staying up late laughing. Grandma, I wish you a very Happy Birthday, and can’t wait to see you! Reggie and Lola send their love too. In fact, Lola was so kind as to let me take a few photos of her, just for you!

I have been waiting for the peony bushes to bloom next to Reggie’s shop. And just over the past few days, some of the blossoms have really become lovely. Not only is the peony the state flower of Indiana, but it was one of the flowers in my wedding bouquet, so I’m rather partial to this natural beauty. My family has always had peony bushes for as long as I can remember. They have a sweet fragrance, and come in several luscious shades of white, cream, and pink, ranging from pale pink to a deep reddish pink. And their petals also vary in shape and size. The ones nestled beside Reggie’s shop are cream and pale pink. Here are some of my favorite images from today.

Reggie and I took the Baur for a spin around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was a bright, sunny day, and the cars were lined up outside the IMS ready for their turn to go around one of the most famous tracks in the world. We were told the speed limit was 30mph, but we only got up to about 10mph. Police and safety vehicles were parked throughout the track to keep all of the drivers in line, and most of the drivers were going pretty slow…better to soak it all in that way, right? The best part was heading down the main straight, toward the pagoda, toward the yard of bricks. This year is the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500!
As we passed pit row, we saw old race cars on display,
so we checked those out after our victory lap. I’ll take this pink one!

Thirty-two years ago, a sweet baby boy was born into this big, big world. Little did he know how he would enrich the lives of all who know him, how he would inspire so many to follow their dreams, and how he would make one woman feel so proud, so lucky, so blessed to call him her husband.
Thirty-two years later, he continues to be just as sweet while sweeps me off my feet over and over and over again. Happy Birthday, to my husband, Reggie! I love you!
Reggie and I are going to drive some laps out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of Community Day – stay tuned for photos!
