Late last year, I received an email inquiry asking about product photos. Several replies were sent back and forth, and we met at a local coffee shop to go over my proposed ideas. Firstly, I love meeting my clients in person! Sharon’s bright smile and kind personality immediately shines when she walks in a room! We discussed the purpose behind the product photos, and before I knew it, I was given full creative freedom to photograph Sharon’s beautiful, hand-made art pieces! As you’ll see as you scroll through this post, her pieces are not only visually striking, but they are functional as well. She currently offers a variety of home decor pieces, and I cannot wait for you to see a small glimpse of her work below! To learn more about Sharon’s art and to get a behind-the-scenes look as she creates everything, be sure to check out her Instagram by clicking here!
Sharon, it has been so fun to work with you and to get to know about you and your story, thank you so much for reaching out, and I cannot wait for the next time!
I always love to learn more about my clients, and in this case, I wanted to know more about her journey as an artist. Keep reading to learn what inspires her work!
Q: How did you get started with your art?
A: While being a full-time parent at home (my kids were about 3 and 1.5 years old) I loved teaching my kids to be creative and we tried almost every art and crafts project I could find in Pinterest. This is where I discovered acrylic pouring and resin art. I did months of research and made my first resin piece in 2018 and I have been hooked since.
Q: How do you decide what items you’d like to offer?
A: I do research, see what’s trending. Collaborations with other makers.
Q: What inspires you?
A: Home decor stores, nature, my kids, beaches/ocean (I’m originally from Sri Lanka and feel like I’m drawn to the ocean lol)
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
A: Traveling, Hanging out with my friends/ family, our kids love movie nights and playing with our pet cat!
Q: What are your upcoming events where people can meet you and purchase your pieces?
A: One of a Kind holiday Show – Chicago!
Thanks again to Sharon for giving us a peek into her daily life and her work as she creates her stunning pieces!
