Oh what a perfect day we had for David’s senior session!  It was so wonderful to see him and his family again…and to meet his sweetheart of a girlfriend, Allie!  We ventured to a beautifully landscaped area, visited the very baseball field where David played baseball growing up, and wrapped up the day at his high school where he runs cross country.  Although the day started out a bit on the cloudy side, the sun peeked out at the best times throughout the session, making for one happy photographer and for warm and glowing images!  I have so many favorites from the day!  Let’s get right to them!

David has such a great smile!  I don’t think he stopped smiling for
more than a few seconds the entire time!  Love it!

A favorite!

These two!!!  I had so much fun photographing David and Allie together!  They attend different schools, however, they share a love of running and spending time with family and friends.  And they are completely adorable!

See what I mean?!  So cute!

Aside from his love of running, painting, and drawing, David’s also quite spiritual.  He brought along the Bible that belonged to his late Grandmother.

It was so difficult to choose just one from this next series!
Luckily, it’s my blog so I can share a few!  😉

He brought along a few hats from his collection.

Then this happened and I love it!  A favorite of these two!

We arrived at our last location of the day, and before I knew it, David had scaled the tree!
Another favorite!

Once David’s dad found this old gardening tool, we knew we had to use it!  It took a few frames for these two to be so serious.  Our version of American Gothic.  I think they nailed it!

David, thank you so much for the honor and sheer joy and fun of capturing your senior portraits!  It was so great to see your family again and to meet Allie!  I love how much you smile and just truly enjoy life, it’s so refreshing and contagious!  Wishing you an amazing senior year!  You’ve got a brilliant and promising future ahead of you!  Thanks again for everything!

Happy Friday!  Fall is one of my favorite seasons, tied with Spring!  And speaking of favorites, senior sessions are one of mine too!  I love when I get to work such inspiring and down-to-earth people, and this handsome guy has such a bright and wonderful future ahead of him!  Meet Christian, Class of 2016!  I had the honor of documenting this exciting milestone, and we had such a fun time on a beautiful early fall afternoon!  A few days before our session, Christian had officially signed on as a future baseball star for Taylor University!  His family is incredibly proud of him!  Aside from being an athlete, he loves spending time with family, helping on his Grandfather’s farm (as you’ll see below), and has a very generous heart and a passion for helping others.  His family is currently on a mission trip, just one of several that they’ve experienced together over the years.  I always count my blessings, especially when it comes to all of the amazing clients I have the honor of meeting and photographing!  As a mother to a son (and soon to my second son!), it was interesting and very special to photograph this session.  For one thing, Christian possesses so many wonderful qualities, all that would make a parent so very proud.  And just imagining Remington as a senior one day…I still cannot quite believe that he’s a 3-year-old!  All of this makes me love what I do that much more.  One amazing client, Christian.  His amazing story, one filled with family, compassion, and talent.  And the amazing future that awaits him!  Please enjoy some of my many favorites from the day!

Oh the light!  A favorite!  We had such a perfect day!

We traveled to his high school for photos on his home field.  It was so cool to see him in his element!

Yessss!

Love both of these!

As I mentioned, Christian helps out on his Grandfather’s farm.  When his Mom told me that he had helped breed this sweet baby goat, I knew we had to get photographs of them together!  Isn’t she adorable!!!

Her rare markings make her quite a special goat!

We stayed out with the last of the evening light at a nearby farm.  Christian brought along his Jeep, which was a perfect addition to the location!

I had the honor of meeting and photographing Christian’s family last fall, so I wanted to share a couple favorites from their fun session!  (I’ve been a bit behind on blogging and plan to catch up soon!)

A few years ago, I had the honor of photographing a delightful senior, Hannah, and this past fall, I was just as honored to photograph her lovely sister, Grace!  I just adore these two!  They both have gorgeous eyes, bright smiles, and hearts of gold!  And I could have photographed them both for days!  We had so much fun exploring downtown Indianapolis with some vibrant fall color still left on the trees.  I know I sound like a broken record every time I blog about my senior sessions, but it is just so true, I love my job, and I love working with people, just like Grace (and Hannah!), that have passion, excitement, and hope for their future!  It is inspiring, refreshing, rewarding, and I couldn’t ask for more! Grace, you are beyond beautiful, inside and out.  Your constant smiles, laughter, and sweet demeanor are a breath of fresh air.  Your family must be so very proud of you, and after hanging out with your adorably sweet Mom for these sessions, it’s so easy to see why you are so wonderful!  I wish you all the best as you finish your senior year and look forward to the next adventure that awaits you!  Enjoy some of my many, many favorites from your session!  It was so difficult to choose just a few!

Gaaah!  See what I mean?!  So pretty!!!
This was one of our first frames of the day…I just knew we were going to have so much fun!

Grace loves soccer, just like her sister.

Grace brought an amazing wardrobe…don’t you love this dress?!

Stunning!!!

Hannah came along to hang out with Grace, so we just had to get a few of them together!  They’ll be attending the same school in the fall!  Love you both!!!

Did I mention that I have so many favorites from Grace’s session?  Good, because this is another one!

I love this image! And for several reasons! One, we had great light.  Two, we had juuuuust the right amount of wind.  Three, just look at her smile!  I may or may not have screamed with excitement during this particular portion of the day.  Ok, I was totally screaming and squealing!

Yes, yes, yes!  Grace nails that whole smiling with your eyes every single time!

Grace, what an amazing senior session!  You were beyond fun to work with, and I’m just so thankful and honored to be the one to capture this exciting milestone in your life and to have known your amazing family!  Thank you so much for sharing your time with me!  Best wishes to you for the brightest of futures!

She stepped out of the car with a mint tulle skirt, and I knew we were in for a fun senior session!  Jessica is a beauty, inside and out, and she has such a wonderful heart and the most gorgeous big brown eyes!  She has a love for music, painting, reading, travel, …and comic books.  When her father contacted me about her session, he told me that she is a planner and that she had a vision of what she was hoping for when it came to her senior portraits.  He also mentioned that she wanted photos taken in her favorite comic book store, and had already sought permission!  Love that!  I love it when clients get truly invested in their sessions!  During this session, Jessica and I both admitted that it would be fun to be a ballerina…although neither of us knew much of anything about it!  What I do know is that we had such a fun time dancing and twirling through the gardens!  Jessica, thank you so much for embracing your session the way that you did and for incorporating what you love to make it oh so you!  And now for a few of my favorites! A big thank you to Julia of Julia Wadsworth Makeup Artistry for making Jessica look extra gorgeous on her special day!

Hello, beautiful!  A favorite!

Did I mention that we had some wonderful light during our session?  It had rained for most of the day, and I was worried that we’d have to reschedule at the last minute… However, we had a bright overcast sky, and I was in heaven!  P.S. What did I tell you about her gorgeous eyes?

lovelovelove this one!

Sooo pretty, Jessica, so so so pretty!

After we had soaked up every last bit of evening light, we ventured to Jessica’s favorite comic book store – where she and her friends spent so much time over the summer –  for some more portraits!  Such a fun and original idea!  And these next two are some of my favorites from our time there!

Jessica, I can’t thank you enough for planning something so fun and so personal!  I hope you have a wonderful senior year, and I can’t wait to see what your future holds!  Best wishes to you!!!

Right now, there is snow and ice on the ground as I look out my office window…however, we had a sunny, beautiful fall afternoon for my handsome nephew Logan’s senior session!  We made a family adventure out of it – we packed up Remington and his backpack and met up with Logan, his adorable and sweet girlfriend, Adessa, and Logan’s Dad (my brother-in-law…Hi Mike!), and Mike’s beautiful fiancee Kathy, and walked around downtown Crawfordsville.  Logan, you have grown into such a fine young man!  I can hardly believe that you will be graduating from high school soon!  Where has the time gone?!  Logan loves baseball, fishing, and hanging out with friends.  He also loves driving and working on his VW, which was featured in a few photos too!  Friends and family can view his entire online gallery here.  And now for some favorites from our afternoon!

Hi Logan!

He found some great locations that just so happened to incorporate one of his favorite colors…blue!

Logan and Adessa are a great (and adorable!) couple!
A favorite!  Loved the light in this spot that day!

Just look at those blue eyes! And what a great smile!

Did I mention I love the light we had that day?!  Love both of these!

So cute!

Logan, thank you so much for the honor of capturing this special time in your life!  I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you!  Enjoy your senior year!  Congratulations!!!
