This is a bittersweet post. Reggie and I were introduced to Sarah and John just over 5 years ago. We attend the same church, and have loved getting to know them because they are so nice, so fun to hang out with, and they are just amazing people. Their little ones are absolutely adorable! Alice is a little over 2 1/2 and her handsome little brother is just over 8 months old now. They are in the process of moving out of state, and we will miss them so much! I’m crossing my fingers that photo sessions will work out when they come back to visit family! Earlier this summer, we had a beautiful morning for a family session to celebrate Father’s Day. John, Sarah, Alice, and Henry, it has been such an honor to know you and to call you friends. And the icing on the cake has been documenting some wonderful family times. You are beautiful people, inside and out, and I know that this isn’t goodbye, just farewell until we see you again. Birmingham is oh so lucky to have you! Best wishes for a safe and easy move! And now for some of my favorites from our latest – not our last! – session!
I had the absolute honor of meeting gorgeous baby William and his proud parents, Seth and Becky. And I can’t forget Will’s best friend and terrier pup, Boots, who just adores him! I was warmly welcomed into their charming home for their adorable family session. Will was such an easy going little guy, sleeping off and on while we watched him in complete awe. Seth and Becky are wonderful parents and are oh so smitten with their little one! It was such a joy to witness. This session was filled with many personal items that remind them of their family members who have passed on. In fact, Will was named in honor of his Grandfather. Family is so important, and this one certainly values those special relationships shared with loved ones and friends. We started out in Will’s bright and modern nursery. Despite the lack of sleep in those first few days, Becky and Seth were so happy, full of smiles and laughs, joy and wonder at their sweet baby boy. Without further adieu, please welcome baby Will and his amazing family! Family and friends can view their entire online gallery here (Coming Soon!).
I can hardly believe that Harry and Lucy have celebrated their 1st birthday! It seems like just yesterday I met them just days after they came home from the hospital! We met up early one summer morning in hopes of beating the heat and humidity. Although we had steamy temps, this adorable family rocked out their family session! And I had the joy of seeing just how much fun Harry and Lucy are having these days! Allison and Greg make parenting – to twins no less! – look like a piece of cake! We shared tons of laughs as we walked around our location and ended with a cupcake smash to celebrate their birthdays! Friends and family can view their online gallery here. And now for some favorites from our morning session!
This next little beam of sunshine has lit up the lives of her sweet parents and this blog! I’ve had the honor of documenting maternity photos and many, many milestones (here, here, here, here, here, and here) since then for Miss Emily Claire. What an amazing journey it has been to watch this beautiful little girl grow up! We recently met up to celebrate her upcoming 3rd birthday by going to one of her favorite parks! We had a hot and sunny morning, but Emily was a trooper as we walked around and took portraits in and around a kid-sized town and then relaxed under a willow tree for a tea party. And today happens to be her birthday! Please join me in wishing Miss Emily Claire a very happy birthday! Happy Birthday, Emily! Friends and family can view her entire online gallery here. Here are some favorites from our morning!
Last summer I had the sheer delight of photographing a beautiful and happy family to celebrate the first birthday of their first child. Brian, Brittani, and Bryson were so much fun! So you might imagine how excited I was to hear that they were expecting their second child, a little boy! Bennett was born just a few days after Bryson’s 2nd birthday – what a perfect present for his older brother! This little guy was a happy – and sleepy! – camper for his first time in front of my camera! When he was awake, he simply observed his surroundings, taking everything in. Bennett, you make your parents beam with happiness. And Bryson is the perfect big brother! I’ll admit I’m quite smitten with you too! I have quite a few favorites from our afternoon, so let’s get right to them! Friends and family can view Bennett’s entire online gallery here.
