I absolutely love photographing weddings and engagements!  When I first meet a couple and we just click, I get SO excited and feel completely honored to be the one chosen to capture such an amazing time in their lives!

I love hearing about how they met and fell in love.  How he makes her laugh with his sense of witty humor.  And the way he makes her feel so safe and secure when he hugs her tight.  I love hearing about why they chose their favorite place to get married, because it’s special to their family. Or maybe he surprised her by taking her there on their first date.  Maybe they both love wine and so it only makes sense to say “I Do!” at their favorite vineyard.  Or maybe they met on the stairs downtown in the Statehouse, and they want to always remember the grand serendipity of how their lives changed forever…and for the better!  Perhaps saying your vows with your toes in the sand on some tropical island is more your style…I love that too!

I’m a sucker for a great love story, and I want to capture yours!  Whether it be on a vineyard, in a grand hall with incredible architecture, in a beautiful rustic barn, in a garden full of colorful blooms, under the big tree that has been on your family’s property for decades, or at a historic building or landmark that speaks to your heart.

Do you know someone who is searching for their engagement and wedding photographer?  Please feel free to share this post with them, and let them know  that I’d love to chat wedding details with them!

Stewart Imagery Wants to Photograph Your Love Story!

If you follow Stewart Imagery on Facebook, you probably saw the post regarding the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at the gorgeous Scottish Rite Cathedral.  Well, it was my first bridal show… and it was such a fun and exciting experience!  I must start by thanking my wonderfully talented and creative husband, Reggie, for designing and building my booth!  I gave him a wish list of ideas, and he made them come to life, and it turned out so much better than I could have dreamed!  Countless hours were spent daydreaming, planning, designing, building, painting, decorating, deconstructing, transporting, setting up, and tearing down.  With only about 4 hours of sleep the night before the show, we were running on coffee, but more so on the exhiliration that comes with meeting and talking to hundreds of new people in a lively and oh so beautiful environment!  Despite the snowy weather, everything came together perfectly.  We had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful and excited newly engaged brides and couples and their families.  Thank you to all brides, vendors, and friends who came to visit us over the 2 day show!

A little something was created for each bride on the spot to celebrate their engagement!
P.S. Isn’t this a gorgeous engagement ring?  Wowza!

Was it difficult to plan for the bridal show?  Yes, planning for a bridal show took a lot of time and effort.  Was I nervous?  You betcha!  This was my first event like this, and it seemed that everyone else had been doing this for years, and knew just what to do and what to expect.  Would I do it again?  Definitely!  I tend to be on the shy side when I’m not behind my camera, however, stepping out of my comfort zone, putting my work out there, meeting new people, and trying something new was all worthwhile.  And the feedback we received about our presentation was tremendous, so that was definitely a bonus and made us feel that all of the hard work had paid off!

Thanks again to all who visited Stewart Imagery at the show!
Cheers to an amazing 2014!
A special thank you to our dear friend Tracy who volunteered to help us tear down
and pack up at the end of the event!  We are so grateful for that!!!
And to my parents for taking such great care of our little Remington while we were there! We love you so much!

Happy Friday to you! You may recall this post from a few weeks ago…well, here are a few more images that I worked on just for fun. It was fun to put a bit of a twist on what I normally do…I felt like doing something with an advertisement style. Being stuck inside during this cold weather forces me to get creative. All of the following images feature something that I love, so maybe that’s why I had fun with these! Each one has a caption, so you may need to click on each image to see it full-size to get a better view. 🙂

These cute, warm gloves were a Christmas gift from one of my Aunts, aren’t they adorable?

This one makes me laugh…try reading it with a British accent…laughing yet?

My husband is a huge fan of hot sauces of all kinds and varieties. Since meeting him, I must say my tolerance for all things spicy has greatly improved! But please beware of the Dave’s Insanity sauce on the right…if you want to hear a funny story about me cooking with this particular bottle of instant wildfire, please leave a comment!
Let’s just say smoke alarms, bouts of coughing, sweating, and drinking about any cold liquid in the refrigerator are involved in said story. Want my recipe?

…thanks to my sweet, cooperative hubby for making this one happen…my favorite!

Got a better caption for any of these images? Share it in the comments!

A bit of a flair for advertising…

Ok, so maybe posting a contest over the holidays was not the greatest of ideas! I’m happy to announce that the contest mentioned in my previous post will be extended! Here are the details:

Take a look through all of my posts from 2009 – scroll down the right side of my blog to Stewart Imagery | Archives for the complete list. Pick your favorite(s), then come back to this post and leave a comment with your name, your favorite(s), and a brief explanation as to why you chose that session. It’s important that you leave the comments on this post so they are easy for me to find. The contest will end on Sunday, January 17th, at 12:01am. A winner will be chosen at random, either by my husband Reggie or our kitty Lola. On Tuesday, January 19th, the lucky winner will receive $25 off their next photo session! And, remember, you can even pick your own post as your favorite if you had a session during 2009! It’s that simple! Good Luck!

A little preview of photos taken over the holidays…I just fell in love with these little feathered friends! Bird lovers, please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this is a Royal Tern. This fellow let me get pretty close for quite a while! Maybe it was the calming sound of the glistening sea that got him in the zone. Whatever it was, it worked!

This beautiful, majestic Snowy Egret was also a great model.
Both Reggie and I got some awesome shots of him.

More to come soon!
